4th of July weekend continued...

I never mentioned that before Mom and Dad picked us up from Salt Lake, Anthon and I went to Temple Square to try to find my cousin S. Daniela Günter again.Or should I say AP Günter ;-)
It is always good to see her. I feel that us both serving/having served there and having seen each other now a couple of times has brought us closer. When we grew up, we only saw each other at special occasions. Kind of sad... I really like Daniela.

After that, we wasted some time on the square and at the Church History Museum. Many people don't know about this museum. It's right west of Temple Square next to the Family History Center. If you ever go to Temple Square, take some time to go to that museum, too. It has tons of artifacts and a little exhibition about every prophet. They also have a replica of the Angel Moroni statue and the pulpit in the Conference Center.

I think Temple Square is a great place to take pictures at. There are beautiful flowers everywhere, it's always clean, you got some fountains there, the beautiful temple, beautiful walls.... of course I'm a little bit biased...

After Mom and Dad picked us up, we went to Uncle John's for the night. The next day, we drove up to Brigham City for Grandma's birthday, drove down to Sandy to John's again.. and the next day we were headed South to the cabin.
On our way there, we stopped by Cove Fort.

Cove Fort was built in 1867 to be a way station for people traveling the Mormon Corridor. Here they could sleep and have some good food for little money.

You can find out more about Cove Fort on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cove_Fort

 The entrance

A senior sister was so nice and took us on a tour...

 The telegraph office

 The kitchen

My first time ever seeing something like this.. I think you call it an iridescence.

After that we drove to the cabin- my first time ever going to the cabin. For some reason Anthon and I never made it there although we were always wanting to go there. What a neat cabin!

 Experimenting with marbles...

You can't imagine how difficult it is to take pictures of marbles in the cabin... we tried out sooo many different settings.... we were so proud that we at least got some.. :-)

Driving around the area...

 Somebody got hungry...

Cedar Breaks- beautiful!

The rest of the day we spend driving down to Las Vegas, where Mom and Dad spent two nights at the Paris.

It was so much fun spending time with them and going swimming, eating out and shopping at Ross- I LOVE Ross! :-) Thank you so much for visiting us!

  1. I´ve a comment concerning the rainbow in the cloud. A rainbow appears when the sun behind you rays to waterdrops in front of you. In this case there had been waterdrops in the clouds.

I saw a similar phenomenon while flying with an airplane. the plane was right between the sun and the cloud. I looked out the window down to the cloud and I saw the shaddow of the plane like a black cross on the white cloud. Around the cross there were two rainbow rings. It was very impressing.
